John, did you tried to "make install" after you compiled the patched source? The manual page is supposed to be placed at /usr/share/man/man1/, and configure script is supposed to know exactly how to do that
However, at some distributions, the location may change. Anyway, the best thing is to search the distribution-specific package of Geolizer. Binaries are kinda "cheap replacement" for that
